Portugal declares State Of Emergency over Covid-19

The State of Emergency, declared by the President of Portugal, to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, came into force at 00:00 on 19 March and lasts until 23:59 on 02 April, according to the decree published in Diário da República.

The new measures allow the portuguese government to restrict temporarily on circulation on public roads, unless justified and  to ban social or religious meetings. Although the measures will not affect personal rights or freedoms of expression and information.

During this period of Covid-19 outbreak many restaurants, museums, public areas, accommodation and tourism activities companies are temporarily closed to contain the impact of this disease.

From now on and until further notice we must follow the recommendations given by the World Health Organization and keep a safe social distance.
